Learning material

Chipschool collects and provides links to learning material which is helpful to acquire the level of knowledge required for career entry points into the chip design industry.

your own chip

The Google and efabless shuttle program enables anyone in the world to design a 10mm² chip in 130nm Skywater technology. efabless also provides a complete set of ASIC design tools.

Costs for the fabrication of 50 chips, packaging, evaluation boards and shipping are covered 100% by Google for this program.

Until June 2022, over 200 different chips have been manufactured though this program.

Mentorship boot camp

The chipschool mentorship boot camp is a free-to-attend 10 month long program of individual mentoring by a seasoned chip design engineer with decades of industry experience. This boot camp is intended as a complementary source of knowledge and guidance from the perspective of an industry veteran.

This programm does provide opportunity for eager students to go beyond what their University curriculum provides and requires them to do.

It is our goal that graduates of the chipschool mentorship boot camp will be considered by any chip design company in the world as sought-after-junior- engineers. To establish chipschool.org as a trustworthy quality brand, the quality of our alumnis is of the highest concern.

To work with smart, engaged and motivated students is the only reward for mentors. They provide their contribution for free.

To attract highly qualified mentors, chipschool is able offer a mentorship only to students which show an exceptional level of motivation and learning capabilities. As a minimum requirement, you should have designed and deployed several digital designs on an FPGA and documented it on github.
There are currently 2 mentorship spots available.
The mentorship boot camp does start after the desicion of the mentor to accept a mentee after the interview.

There are no formal criterias to be considered for the mentorship boot camp. Send an email with your motivation, current situation and a github link to your recent HDL desgins to simon.southwell@gmail.com
